It's a truism to say that Stanceworks' Mike Burroughs is a BMW fan. Not only is the brand inextricably linked with his perennially popular blog/forum/lifestyle movement, but he gets to chase down the icons with his lens - which is what's happening here.
Under the fastidious curation of BMW North America's Vintage Collection, CSL #25 hasn't been mothballed as a museum piece, but rather enjoys the privileges afforded to all fully-fledged works racing cars: expert support, plenty of exercise, and regular racing in real formulae. This particular photoshoot chronicles a private test session in advance of the car competing in the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Laguna Seca, as well as covering the race itself. You can almost hear it barking, popping and screaming, can't you?
