Cars from the 1970s Vauxhall/Opel stable work very well in brown - it's the juxtaposition of the chrome and the fuss-free panels that does it. My folks used to have a mkI Cavalier 2000GLS in Tobacco Brown and it looked superb.This Opel Rekord D is a case in point: a gruff, butch three-box looks infinitely meaner with two doors, and the earthy seventies hue couldn't be better suited to the car, complementing the smoothie-alike wheels beautifully. The fact that there's a 24v Senator straight-six under the bonnet is the icing on the cake.
