The T16 you see here is one of the road-going homologation models, usually found in dark metallic grey. It wears the livery of the full-house rally machines, but the clues of its toned-down nature are obvious, not least in the rather more civilised interior. Nevertheless, 'toned-down' in this case doesn't really say much - even the road-spec T16 was a monstrous and terrifying thing, with its mid-mounted, turbocharged, 200bhp engine, rally-spec 4WD drivetrain, and diminutive wheelbase that loved to snap into violent oversteer at the merest suggestion of mid-corner throttle. A true legend, this; the livery may be a little dishonest in this context (and, given the relative values of the road and rally cars, may have even devalued this example a bit), but it's still a sensational thing.
